The Fall Book Fair is Coming!!!

November 8, 9, 10, 15, & 16

Well, its almost that time of year again and we need some dedicated volunteers. Our book fair will run for 5 school days from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm. Each class will visit the Book Fair at least once. 

What will I be doing if I volunteer for Book Fair? Volunteers will help students find books on their reading level as well as age appropriate. Volunteers will also help straighten shelves, tables, etc. 

If I volunteer, does it have to be all day? No, you can volunteer for 15 minutes, 3 hours, or you can hang out with us all day!!!   

What do I need to bring with me if I volunteer? You will need to bring a valid copy of your DCPS Volunteer Card. If you plan to volunteer during lunch time please plan to provide your own lunch. (PTA will not be able to provide lunch) 

Still Interested? We need 2 to 3 volunteers during the day (8:30-2:30) One of our greatest needs is 4 to 5 volunteers during student arrival and dismissal (7:45-8:30 and 2:30-3:15)!  Please check your schedule, and let us know what day and time you will be able to help us out!

Reflections Volunteers Needed

What do we need volunteers for:

To get ready for the Reflections art display at the school starting November 15th. 

When and where:

We need volunteers to start on Monday, November 1st  at 3:15 in Mrs. Hadden's art room.

We will need you  for at least an hour or two (we would not stay any longer than 6:00 at the very latest) 

The kinds of things that we will need our volunteers to do:  

Is checking entry forms, photocopying, measuring art work to make sure it is within the guidelines, cutting and attaching mats to paintings and photos.  On Monday the 8th (tentatively), hanging the artwork in the hallway.

  

Do I need experience?

There really is no experience needed; once you figure out the math for measuring it goes pretty quickly.

October Volunteer Opportunities

Hi Everyone,
Here are the volunteer opportunities for October 2010:
Thursday October 21st 

The event is Learning Under the Big Top-reading, writing, math, and science activities, Maggie the dog, and pumpkin voting. Volunteers are needed from 5:30-7:30, we are needing 3 to 4 volunteers.

We would also need help cleaning up from 7:15-hopefully 7:45, maybe 8:00.
